About me

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD, C.Psych) registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I provide virtual (online) psychological services to clients in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Quebec, & New Brunswick.

I graduated with a clinical psychology degree from University of Toronto and have worked in community mental health centres, schools, university, and private practice settings with individuals and families across the lifespan presenting with diverse mental health presentations.

My integrative approach to treatment draws from several well-researched therapeutic modalities, such as psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment-based and trauma-focused therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), emotion focused therapy approaches, mindfulness-based therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I don’t take a one-size fits all approach to therapy.

Over the course of my psychology training I have provided psychological services to individuals and families at SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health, the George Hull Centre, Toronto District School Board, the University of Toronto (OISE) Psychology clinic, and in multiple private practice settings.

My doctoral research focused on the impact of parental childhood maltreatment/trauma experiences on their emotion regulation and co-regulation abilities within their parenting and coparenting relationships.

Why see a Registered Psychologist?

A registered clinical psychologist with a PhD degree has approximately 10+ years of undergraduate and graduate education. Registration as a psychologist in Ontario requires a doctorate degree in psychology from a recognized university (including the completion of pre-doctoral clinical practica and residency) , a 1 - 2 year supervised post-doctoral supervised practice experience, and passing numerous rigorous examinations required by the College of Psychologists of the registering Province (for me that’s Ontario). In addition to providing treatment/ psychotherapy support, Psychologists also have the designation to diagnose various mental health disorders.

We have learned that trauma is not just an event that took place sometime in the past; it is also the imprint left by that experience on mind, brain, and body.
